Many active service clubs and churches are available in Castlegar. We flourish
because of these churches and service clubs. Their involvement in our
community makes this region complete.
There are several churches/faiths in Castlegar:
A number of service clubs in Castlegar provide all types of support to
our community. The following service clubs are identified as major contributors
to community projects and community awareness:
- Air Cadets to promote citizenship and sportsmanship.Castlegar
- Selkirk Lions Club fundraising group for community projects.Castlegar
- United Way fundraising group for organizations.
- Rotary Club service above self. Involved in community and international
projects as well as youth exchange.
- Royal Canadian Legion Branch #170 looks after veterans and their
dependents.
- Selkirk College Foundation supporting post-secondary education and
the students of Selkirk College by raising funds through donations,
gifts-in-kind, property, insurance, and bequests.
Castlegar is a broad and diverse community. Through the active participation
of its citizens in these organizations, Castlegar continues to grow and
prosper
