The Creative Edge Gallery is situated in the heart of the West Kootenays in downtown Castlegar, British Columbia Canada. It is nestled in between Nelson, Trail, Grand Forks, Christina Lake and Salmo. The Gallery is made up of professional local artists that all live and work in the area. It is privately owned and operated by it’s director Karla Pearce and functions as an artist co-operative within the community with 85% of the sales going directly to the artists. The artwork is rotated on a regular basis keeping the gallery fresh and new upon each visit. The Gallery also provides coffee and tea for visitors wishing to sit and enjoy the beautiful art in the gallery. The Creative Edge Gallery has a teaching studio where art classes are available for all levels ranging from the novice painter to the advanced artist.  It also offers Children’s After School Classes, Art Camps and Pro-D Art Days. The Gallery is open Tues  Friday 10:00 – 5:00 and Sat 12:30- 4:00

The Kootenay Gallery of Art, located in Castlegar, is a public art gallery that serves the entire Kootenay Region. It is one of the 28 original exibition centres beuilt in the 1970's so that rural people could enjoy the great works of art, sourced regionally, nationally and internationally as well as provide a professional venue for regional artists to show and see their work. The Kootenay Gallery is a non-profit institution, governed by a Board of Directors and financially assisted by the Government of B.C. through the B.C. Arts Council and the B.C. Gaming Comission, the City of Castlegar, Regional District of Central Kootenay Area J, corporate sponsors, members and donations.

Doukhobor Discovery Centre is a unique museum is nestled in a beautiful historic setting on the banks of the Columbia River on traditional Doukhobor orchard land on the settlement of 1908. Here you can learn about the origin of Doukhobor people as you stroll through the spacious grounds containing heritage plants under the benign gaze of a distinctive statue of Leo Tolstoy, sympathizer and benefactor of the Doukhobors. Nearby are some other features of historical interest such as the Doukhobor Suspension Bridge built by hand in 1913, proclaimed a National Heritage Site and Verigin Memorial Park, scenic tomb of the charismatic leader, Peter V. Verigan is also declared a Person of National Historic Significance.
